The Executive Council met last week and we have officially approved the launch of our union's new mobile friendly website at uwua601.org. You may recognize some of your fellow Local 601 members. UCOMM Communications, who specializes in websites and emails for labor unions, told us at the Council meeting that our union was easy to work with. Many members answered the call to pose for photos for our website that place our union in a positive light. I want to thank you all for participating - you all look great! The top navigation on our website has links to news from myself, political action and general news. There are also links to sign up for this newsletter, an organize page for the non-union to visit and learn about how to organize a union in their workplace, a calendar of events, an about us and history page and an Executive Council page showcasing who your union representative is at your workplace.
Below are instructions on how to create the app-like shortcut on your smartphone. I encourage you all to do this. Our new website also has a photo and video gallery and news feeds from the National Utility Workers Union of American and from the AFL-CIO. There is a larger labor movement out there beyond New Jersey and its important that all members know that workers are fighting back all across this great country.
So enjoy the new website, give it a look and encourage your fellow 601 members to take a look. Give your union representative some feedback and help us grow our email and cell phone list.
