Do Your Part to Get the PRO Act Passed

Wednesday, March 24, 2021

The PRO Act is one of the most important pieces of labor legislation to ever be considered by the Congress. Earlier in the month, this bill passed the House of Representatives, but is now stalled in the Senate. To help get the bill passed the UWUA is asking for your help. As you can see below, the UWUA has set up a way for you to record a video supporting the PRO Act. These videos will then be used to show lawmakers the support that this bill has. Please take a few moments and record one of these videos to let lawmakers in Washington know that we want to see this important bill passed.

Record a Video Supporting the PRO Act

Union members across the nation have raised their voices, sending thousands of letters and making thousands of calls to the lawmakers elected to represent the needs of working families. Many of those letters came from our own sisters and brothers.

It paid off. On Tuesday, March 9th, the House of Representatives passed the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. The PRO Act would give workers the collective power to win better pay and expand protections that ensure safe workplace conditions, all while driving demand and creating good, safe union jobs. To put it bluntly: working families and union members need the PRO Act.

Now the bill goes to the Senate. That'll be a much harder fight, but lifting our voices together, we can make that happen.

That's why we need you to add your voice, and record your personal video message to lawmakers letting them know why the PRO Act is important for your loved ones and coworkers today.
