Local 601 is establishing a Young Workers Committee.The Young Workers Committee will educate young union members about their union and how to communicate with other union members to get young people involved. We are doing this because we are losing the young workers within our unions as they do not possess a general understanding of how unions benefit them. The NJ AFL-CIO is supporting this across the state, so if your interested in getting involved and building people power in your community please contact your union representative. At the most recent AFL-CIO Convention, a recommendation was made to adopt a resolution for commitment to a Young Workers Committee and pictured above is our very own Local 601 Young Workers Chair Jessica Francis-Wright reading part of the resolution.
