UWUA Local 601 Volunteers at Whitman Park

Monday, September 28, 2015
On Thursday, September 17th, about 200 volunteers came together to change the Camden community in New Jersey. Volunteers from the Cooper Foundation, PSE&G, the Philadelphia 76ers and UWUA Local 601 joined students from Camden High School, city officials and public works employees to build a playground at Whitman Park.

A non-profit organization, KaBOOM!, designed the playground and provided the equipment for the playground. The design for the playground was created by asking children to draw their dream playground.

Our very own Local 601 came out to help with change incredibly change to the Camden community. The time and work they gave into making this playground will give children something to look forward too and keep them off the streets.
