We have a laser like focus on eliminating contractors. For the the last 70 years, PSEG has contracted our workers into call center and field collection work. We have had non-union contractors doing some of our work for the last 4 years and we have a laser like focus to eliminate those contractors and maintain these positions in our bargaining unit. We have lost members due to contracting. This has given us less opportunities to promote workers to better positions and we're doing everything to get them back; Whether we have to send a message by launching a media campaign via newspapers or radio, or by legislation through the Save New Jersey Electric and Gas Public Utility Customer Service and Call Center Jobs Act - we all need to say something if we see something.
